1. Consume Fresh foods as close to their natural state as possible. I choose fresh or frozen over canned, bagged or boxed any day!
2. Think Rainbow! Yellow-squash, orange-oranges, red-grapes, purple-eggplants, blue-blueberries and green-peas. This is a fun way to eat a variety of vegetables and fruits (especially for kids). You will get plenty of your daily required vitamins and minerals when you do.
3. Focus on Easy to Digest foods that exit quickly from your body are high in water content. Foods like melons and salads travel at a faster rate through your digestive system than foods that are processed; such as pastas, meats and breads.
4. Eat Nothing after 8pm as this allows your body to absorb properly, rest comfortably, waking up to a new day feeling refreshed!
5. Eat to live! There are 3 basic types of eaters. The ones who eat for themselves; impulsive eating, self-gratification or out of habit. Or those who eat for survival because of a life-crisis or for urgent weight loss. Lastly, those who have self-respect both for themselves and for the food they eat. There is a freedom that comes when we take responsibility for our health and begin to eat to live not live to eat!
…. and 5 more!
